HIIT workout - High Intensity Interval Training - contains short intervals of very intense activity alternated with recovery periods. The main HIIT benefit is getting a maximum benefit in a minimum time.

 

What is HIIT?

High Intensity Interval Training contains periods of high intense exercise alternated with periods of rest or low-intensity exercise. Usually the HIIT workouts last about 30 minutes or less.

HIIT is a great workout, but if you are beginner start with lower intensity.
If you are older and in not best shape, watch for your heart rate. Calculate your maximum heart rate and don't go over it.
Heart rate depends on your age and level of fitness, but the easiest formula for maximum heart rate is 220 - age.
